The Dance Diary

To create the 'Dance Diary', Iwanson International invited dance photographer VRENI ARBES to follow the school throughout a whole schoolyear during classes, rehearsals and performances. The aim is to offer the visitor an intimate view, the backstage so to speak of a professional dance program.
Isabella Blum is without doubt one of the leading jazz dance teachers in Germany.
In music theatre and musicals, the audience sometimes is confronted with an emotional and lyric choreographed piece, sometimes with a fast, technically challenging one. Jazz dance can be sexy, it can be acrobatic, it can be rhythmic, thrilling and dramatic but also poetic, heart-warming and touching.
And when it is all of these things at the same time, you can be sure it's a choreographed piece by Isabella Blum – and that's why people are talking about her as belonging to a class of her own.
